Reminder as the school year comes to an end to send in your transcript now if you have met the wins criteria for the AKC Eukanuba.
Seeking Your Input!
The Master Class has met with controversy and debate and we are seeking your input.
The Master Class was established to provide an opportunity for Juniors who have earned an established number of wins in the Open Class with competition to move to a separate class allowing other Juniors an opportunity to obtain the wins needed for Limited competitions. The eligibility dates for the Master Class have been revised to be consistent with the AKC Eukanuba.
The intent of the class was successful in that 36 more Juniors met the win eligibility criteria for the AKC Eukanuba in 2012.
Since the inception, staff has received a variety of comments and concerns about the Master Class which include:
||Lack of competition in the Master Class for those who qualify early in the year.
||Juniors in the Open Classes have lesser competition as a result of those who have moved in the Master Class.
||Juniors in the Master Class lose some of their skills because of the lack of competition.
||Juniors in the Open Class do not learn Sportsmanship.
||Juniors in the Open Class will never develop skills as they are lacking the competition.
||Juniors get the idea they can win without putting in the effort to develop skills.
||Juniors are able to experience success and advance to another level.
||Younger Juniors are not competitive in the Master Class.
|These are all comments that have been received and more.
Staff is seeking your constructive comments to revise the current class structure if it is deemed necessary.
Please submit your constructive comments and suggestions for consideration to: email@example.com
Thank you for your participation and good luck!
